Celebrating Eucharist Daily

Driving to my third day of celebrating Eucharist, I was overcome with this insight.

Eucharist is not limited to the Blessed Sacrament. It has three components: community, the liturgy of the word, and breaking of the bread.

Don't we do this as families and friends when sit down at table, pray and break bread together. Could this be why eating together as family is such a powerful practice in raising our children. It is said that having family meals together is the number one factor in keeping children grounded and on the right track.

Today and the rest of this blessed season, slow down your life and take time to be in relationship with others. Celebrate Eucharist with your friends and families by being together, praying, and breaking bread.

Whether you do or if you don't have someone with whom to break bread, visit a nursing home, a homeless shelter, a home bound person, take a meal, sit with them, pray and eat together. You will be filled beyond measure and your blessings will overflow into the lives of many.
