Ash Wednesday

Why is Ash Wednesday so important to people, is a question some people may ask.
  • Is it because of the free ashes or is it because of the beautiful blessing bestowed on the recipient of the ashes.
  • Maybe, we crave the touch to our forehead, as so many of us go days without a human touch.
  • Or are we seeking an inner conversion, a deeper relationship with God.

For me, the ashes remind me of our True Essence, our Oneness with God. Our exterior is but ashes, a temporary vessel, we use while on Earth, meaningless, yet functional. It is our inner Essence from which we are created that exists before, during and after our Life Expression.

Remembering this, allows us to immerse ourselves into the Spirit of Christ, the Essence of God. We release our flesh, tune into our breath and experience the Oneness of Creation.

Ash Wednesday is a great beginning to a beautiful season of seeking God and releasing the pain and suffering of the world.

Meditation for the season:

Take time today to Breathe, breathe into the core of your being. Hold that breath of life within you. Smile. Release the breath, releasing with it all of the pain, anger, fear, and suffering. Your breath enters into the Ocean of Breathes that surround us. Others breathe in your pain and suffering and they too, release it into the Ocean of Breath, God.

We are actually still breathing in the air that Jesus breathed over 2000 years ago.

Say, Thank You God, for God truly absorbs your pain and suffering into the Cosmos of the Universe. Breath brings forth life and massages the Universe, the ebb and flow, the rocking rhythm of life. Tension is released. Peace is experienced.
